About the euro and the Pakistani rupee
The euro (EUR, €) is the currency of 21 European Union countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain and (since 2026) Bulgaria, issued by the European Central Bank. The euro floats freely and is the world's second most-held reserve currency.
The Pakistani rupee (PKR, Rs) is the currency of Pakistan, issued by the State Bank of Pakistan. The rupee has a market-based exchange rate, with the State Bank of Pakistan intervening to smooth sharp moves.
