How to use the Namaz & Qaza Calculator

  1. 1Enter your date of birth and choose the age prayers became obligatory for you.
  2. 2See the number of each daily prayer, Jumu'ah prayers, Eid prayers and Ramadan fasting days.
  3. 3Use the qaza planner to estimate missed prayers and how long making them up will take.

When do prayers become obligatory?

Salah becomes obligatory (fard) when a Muslim reaches puberty (bulugh). Many people use 9 years for girls and 12 for boys as a practical starting point, and in the Hanafi school a person is considered adult at 15 if no signs of puberty appeared earlier. Choose the age that applies to you.

How the counts work

Each of the five daily prayers is counted once per day. For men, Jumu'ah replaces Dhuhr on Fridays. Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and Ramadan days are found using the Umm al-Qura Islamic calendar, so counts follow real Hijri dates (local moon sighting can shift a date by a day).

Qaza (qada) prayers are the obligatory prayers one makes up after missing them. Many scholars advise praying one extra set of the day's prayers alongside each prayer time until the missed prayers are completed.

Example: prayers since age 12

For a man born in March 2000 who began praying at 12, the calculator counts 5,329 days up to October 2026: that is 5,329 of each daily prayer, 26,645 fard prayers in total, 762 Jumu'ah prayers, 15 Eid al-Fitr and 15 Eid al-Adha prayers, and 445 days of Ramadan.

Making up missed prayers (qaza)

  • Make sincere repentance (tawbah) and intend to make up what was missed.
  • Pray qaza in the order of the five daily prayers (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha); many scholars allow praying them at any time except the disliked times.
  • A practical method is one extra set of five with your daily prayers; the planner shows how long that takes.
  • If you are unsure of the exact number, make a reasonable estimate on the side of caution.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my qaza namaz?

Count the days since prayers became obligatory, multiply by five for the fard prayers (plus Witr if you follow the Hanafi school), and estimate the portion you missed. The calculator does this and shows how long making them up will take.

Does this replace a scholar's advice?

No. It is a counting aid. For questions about your specific situation, such as the age of obligation or how to make up prayers, please consult a qualified scholar.
