How to use the Split PDF
- 1Choose a PDF file.
- 2Type the pages to extract (for example 1-3, 5, 8-10), or choose to split every page.
- 3Download your new PDF(s).
Page range examples
'1-3' extracts pages 1 to 3. '2, 4, 6' extracts those three pages. '5-' extracts page 5 to the end. Combine them: '1, 3-5, 9-'. To remove pages, extract everything except them.
Common reasons to split a PDF
- Upload limits: government and university portals often cap files at 2–10 MB, so send only the pages they ask for.
- Share one chapter, invoice or statement page without exposing the rest of the document.
- Turn a scanned stack of documents into separate files, one per document.
- Remove blank or unwanted pages by extracting only the pages you want to keep.
Split, then merge
To rearrange a document, split it into single pages, then combine them in the order you want with Merge PDF. Both tools run in your browser, so confidential files never leave your device.
Frequently asked questions
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied exactly as they are, with no re-compression.
Can I reorder pages?
Yes: list pages in the order you want, for example '3, 1, 2'.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
You need to open it first. If the PDF has an open password, remove it in a PDF reader you trust (print to PDF or save without security), then split the unlocked copy.
