How Connecticut taxes your paycheck
Connecticut income tax rates range from 2% to 6.99% for 2026. On top of state tax, every paycheck has federal income tax and FICA (6.2% Social Security on wages up to $184,500 plus 1.45% Medicare).
The personal exemption phases out as income rises (fully gone above about $44,000 single); we apply that phase-out.
High earners also lose the benefit of the lower brackets (recapture), which this estimate does not include.
| Rate | Single | Married filing jointly |
|---|---|---|
