How to shortlist universities
Start with your subject and budget, then check each university's program page for entry requirements (grades, English test, portfolio), tuition, scholarships and application deadlines. Our country study guides summarize visas, work rights and post-study options for popular destinations.
Checklist before you apply
- Accreditation: confirm the university is officially recognised in its country and that your degree will be accepted at home.
- Entry requirements: grades, English test scores and any subject prerequisites for your program.
- Total cost: tuition plus living costs, health insurance and the visa fee; compare with the study abroad cost calculator.
- Deadlines: many programs close 6–12 months before the start date, and scholarship deadlines can be earlier.
- Work rights and post-study visas in the country you choose.
Beware of degree mills
If a "university" promises a degree in weeks, awards credit for life experience alone, or isn't listed by the country's education ministry, treat it as a red flag. Check its website domain against official lists and look it up on the national accreditation body's website.
